An intriguing thought, that art is the means to receive hints from another reality. Â I am not sure what he means by it, but as I get older, I sense something more numinous. Â And I like the idea of art as a kind of antenna – it was Ezra Pound who described poets as the ‘antennae of the race’.
That said, there are other means than through art alone, such as walking outside or sitting still in a park and watching the birds and bees go about their business. They drop a hint now and then as they fly, hop or buzz by.
‘This other reality is always sending us hints, which, without art, we can’t receive.’
