Many small children are nuannaarpoq-on-legs.  I was walking home through the village when I saw a man pushing a pram and next to him his daughter, a tiny tot of about two, pushing a small dog-faced wooden cart or trolley in front of her.  When she saw me coming, she stood still, held on to the bar of the trolley to steady herself, then let go with one hand to raise it and give me a smile and a wave.

Pure friendship in the moment.  Made my day. It didn’t feel appropriate to take a photo of her, so I looked for another image of a small girl with that open-eyed trusting look.

See another enchanting encounter with a nuannaarpoquina.
